Lovely house beautiful decor only fault is that there was NO tv in the second bedroom as advertised I think this needs addressing as you have advertised it as 52 inch tv in your description and it’s wrong to false advertise Otherwise good holiday

Whittle Dene Reservoir House is absolutely beautiful! So well equipped and they have thought of everything! Beautiful log burners for the cosy evenings after our days exploring! So clean, plenty of towels and dressing gowns for the hot tub! Which was also spotless! We had no hot water on arrival and they were straight out to fix this! The kitchen has everything you will need for cooking, bbq, cheese and wine tasting etc..etc..The welcome treats were lovely and our dog appreciated his too! The only down side was that 6 adults and only one bathroom! But this would not stop us booking again! We felt like we were staying in a castle… plenty of space to spread out!

I'm going to list all the plus points first - of which there are many. The house is beautiful (even better than the pictures). The bedroom in particular is 'wow' and all other rooms are exceptionally well furnished, clean and comfortable. This is undoubtedly the most well equipped holiday cottage we have ever stayed in from a first rate picnic hamper you can use, to every type of glass you can imagine to garden games to fluffy dressing gowns and slippers to make use of, if you are using the hot tub (we didn't). The outside space is nice with two large garden tables and plenty of chairs and the private driveway is long enough to hold multiple cars. The setting on a quiet road between the reservoirs was very picturesque. The only suggestion I would make would be to have a small library of books guests could utilise and perhaps leave books of their own they had finished whilst on holiday. The only negatives I would mention is that the internet did drop out a few times (once for a long period) and there were no instructions for the heating system - the control panel is tucked away in a non obvious place hidden in a bedroom. Also, the website pictures show the garden having a full view of one of the reservoirs from the garden (this was part of the reason we booked) but since then the hedging has grown up substantially and you can't now view it from the garden unless you are very tall! We got around this by walking across the lane with our chairs to one of the other reservoirs which is entirely open and we were able to watch the bird life, local fisherman etc. We would definitely book again if we decide to return to the area. The staff who maintain the place are to be commended - they do a great job. If you are a book fan don't miss Barter Books in Alnwick and Whitely Bay Lighthouse is a great place to see sea birds and seals.
