Morpeth 11.4 miles. Grooms Cottage is a wonderful, traditional holiday cottage resting in the rural province of the Northumberland, on the outskirts of Belsay. This property has a rural location, en-suite bedrooms, as well as traditional décor, which makes it ideal for families and friends looking for a peaceful retreat. Step inside to find the gorgeous sitting room with a toasty open fire to keep you warm throughout those winter evenings. Utilise the kitchen/diner to whip up some delicious homecooked meals with the fully-fitted kitchen before sitting around the dining table and enjoying the meals together. When sleep starts to call, make your way to the well-appointed bedrooms to catch your rest. Before heading out the next day, why not freshen up with either a steamy rinse in the shower or a soak in the tub? When you and your party are all settled in, head out to explore the local area. Nearby you can find Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens which is an impressive spectacle, Bolam Lake Country Park for a lovely stroll by the lake and Nature Grotto Hartburn Forest for those nature enthusiasts. You can make the drive to Morpeth to tee off at Morpeth Golf Club, visit the impressive Morpeth Chantry and enjoy some Italian meals at Lollo Rosso Italia. A bit further out is Ashington, which also has its share of attractions and points of interest. The wonderful Queen Elizabeth II Country Park offers a lovely spot for a picnic, Woodhorn Museum for a unique visit to what was once a 19th-century coal mine and Cambois Beach offers you a lovely spot for a walk right by the deep blue sea. Treat you and your loved ones to all of this and so much more by booking your stay at Grooms Cottage.
The lovely market town of Morpeth is situated centrally in Northumberland and is an ideal base from which to reach the coast or countryside.
