There are many wonderful attractions nearby, including Saltholme rspb Reserve where rich bird life and seals can be spotted, the National Glass Centre at Sunderland for a day out with a difference, as well as Summerhill nature reserve and outdoor play centre. The National Museum of the Royal Navy in Hartlepool’s Harbour is a must. For the more active, the National Cycle Network Route 14 can be found in the local town and takes you all the way to Seaham, while the North York Moors National Park is well-worth venturing to.
