On the ground floor, is a cosy living room, and orangery– ideal for curling up with a book or gather with loved ones for a fun board game. The stylish lounge, boasts comfy sofas and for your entertainment, a Smart TV is provided, should you wish to spend time with the family watching a movie. The heart of the home is the open-plan kitchen/diner, a fantastic space for cooking, dining, and socialising. The kitchen is superbly equipped, whether you’re preparing a hearty family meal or hosting a special dinner, this space enjoys plenty of natural light, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. For more formal dining, the separate dining room offers a sophisticated setting for enjoying meals with family and friends. A further living room with doors to the patio is another relaxing space.
Steelclose Cottage can comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests. Upstairs, you’ll find two king-sized rooms, each offering a relaxing and restful environment one with a walk in wardrobe and views of the gardens. A large family bathroom with both a bath and separate shower is also located on the first floor. A further sofa bed is in the snug area for additional sleeping with a ground floor cloakroom for added convenience.

We had a really lovely stay at Steelhouse Mill Cottage. Its a really cosy, well-kept place that feels peaceful and tucked away, perfect for a quiet break. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed, and it felt comfortable and easy to settle into straight away. Its got a nice homely feel without being fusy. The location is great if you want some quiet time, countryside walks and visiting the sites. It was really relaxing and away from the usual noise. A big bonus was seeing all the red kites flying over! A big thank you to Suzie as well for the great recommendations! Gibside was definitely worth a visit, and the restaurant suggestions were spot on too. The hot tub was a real bonus once the kids were in bed, perfect for relaxing in the evenings. Oliver also loved the trampoline and zip line. They kept him entertained! Communication with the host was easy and everything went smoothly from start to finish. Overall, a great little getaway spot and wed happily stay again

Steelclose Cottage is absolutely gorgeous. You could not ask for a better location. It's set in beautiful grounds. We were lucky to see a deer on the front lawn, so beautiful. Our hosts Suzie and Dan were so friendly and helpful. I couldn't be more happy with our stay. Highly recommend this cottage.
