On the ground floor, is a cosy living room, and orangery– ideal for curling up with a book or gather with loved ones for a fun board game. The stylish lounge, boasts comfy sofas and for your entertainment, a Smart TV is provided, should you wish to spend time with the family watching a movie. The heart of the home is the open-plan kitchen/diner, a fantastic space for cooking, dining, and socialising. The kitchen is superbly equipped, whether you’re preparing a hearty family meal or hosting a special dinner, this space enjoys plenty of natural light, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. For more formal dining, the separate dining room offers a sophisticated setting for enjoying meals with family and friends. A further living room with doors to the patio is another relaxing space.
Steelclose Cottage can comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests. Upstairs, you’ll find two king-sized rooms, each offering a relaxing and restful environment one with a walk in wardrobe and views of the gardens. A large family bathroom with both a bath and separate shower is also located on the first floor. A further sofa bed is in the snug area for additional sleeping with a ground floor cloakroom for added convenience.

A lovely cottage in a forest location with great access to many walks and exploring the North Pennines, Durham and Northumberland.Hosts were amazing and couldn’t help enough and always on hand for any queries.The hot tub was a welcome treat after a day of exploring. Our girls loved the zip wire within the grounds and watching the deer visit to eat the apples that had fallen from the trees. We also enjoyed watching the red kites flying over the orangery visible through the roof.We would highly recommend this cottage and would have no hesitation in re-booking.

A lovely friendly greeting!A beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting! It was peaceful and such a lovely place we didn’t want to go out!We had issues with a couple of power cuts but it was caused by road work and nothing to do with the cottage. The owners did what they could for us bringing hot water for tea etc.The only downside for us was having only one bathroom but we did know that before we arrived so had already accepted it.The garden centre a very short walk away does lovely meals but moves on to tea and cake only at 3 pm so no late lunches.Yes we would go back there although it was a bit far from Lincolnshire!

Wonderful stay at the cottage, immaculately presented, with everything we needed for a comfortable week. Very dog friendly with the enclosed patio round the hot tub, and tonnes of beautiful dog walks straight from the door. Very handy for Newcastle and the A1, but doesn’t feel like you’re anywhere near a city. Lovely owners who were very handy if we needed anything but we never felt overlooked. A truly relaxing week, we’re already planning next year!
