Very nice and clean cottage, well kitted out, A brilliant place to stay for both our dogs due to a front and back enclosed gardens. Quiet location with dark skies particularly in the back garden for the star gazers. Definitively one to revisit!

Comfortable holiday for the two of us. Centrally positioned for major attractions. Mostly well equipped for catering for 6, but only 8 mugs which means frequent washing up for a full house! Very spacious with two lounges, large bedrooms, and a large family bathroom, although the ensuite is a trifle small. Plenty of easy parking by the farmhouse.Raby Castle highly recommended, as is Locomotion, Eshaw Hall and Chapels, Durham City especially the Cathedral, all within easy reach. The Park and Ride is recommended for visiting Durham and the bus service 40C which runs from opposite Radisson Blu Hotel by the riverside up to the Cathedral which saves the struggle up the hill.

A large, comfortable old farmhouse, in deep farming/equestrian countryside - a long way from anywhere really! But it suited our needs. It’s a 35 minute drive to Durham and about 45 minutes to the coast. The cottage is clean and was warm when we stayed there in mid September. Furnishings are adequate, beds are comfortable.
