This eco-friendly, cosy holiday cottage creates its own electricity by photo-voltaic roof tiles, and is adjacent to a cattle and sheep farm, a mile from Eggleston. The converted cattle byre with level access and wide doorways, provides a picturesque countryside retreat. Durham city, 25 miles, has a 12th century cathedral, boutiques in cobbled streets, the Victorian market, restaurants and galleries. Visit the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Northumberland. A car would be preferable as shops and local ammenities are not within walking distance. Historic Barnard Castle on the River Tees is 6 miles. Shops 2 miles, pubs 1 mile.
Initial fuel for the woodburner included, thereafter available locally at cost. Additional double bed settee. Maximum sleeps 2 adults and 2 children. One dog only at £25.00 and this to be paid to the owner via bacs transfer 10 days prior to arrival, or entry will be refused.
The property is located on a working farm.
The water is from a spring, well or borehole, and not a mains supply.
Pets must be kept on a lead at all times.

Excellent spacious, peaceful and well designed place with many thoughtful touches inc milk, eggs, bread etc. Great pile of leaflets of places to visit. Local pub Moor **** had excellent food, great value and own farm meat. Close to Grassholme Observatory, a fantastic experience on a cloud free night, Bowes Museum, High Force, Raby castle etc etc. Easy parking
