What a beautiful cottage in a fantastic location. You could arrive on public transport and have everything you need on your doorstep. So many lovely walks from the front door. The cottage had everything we needed. Superb quality in everything! Incredible selection of shops, eateries on the doorstep. Hosts are wonderful. We would go back in a heartbeat.

We all had a wonderful holiday at Cobbler’s Cottage. Highly recommended. Excellent location in Barnard Castle, tucked just behind the main shopping thoroughfare. Very comfortable accommodation and nicely decorated and presented. Everything you need on hand, especially if you don’t want to cook on your holiday but kitchen well equipped if you do. Would return without hesitation. Good base also for exploring Co Durham.

A comfortable and cosy cottage ideally situated in the centre of the town. It was quiet and peaceful with a lovely small courtyard which would be pleasant in warmer weather. It was well equipped throughout with excellent furnishings and decor. The owner was anxious to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction and to contact her if there were any queries at all. We very much enjoyed our stay there in a perfect location for good shops, pubs and cafes as well as nice local walks, particularly by the river. We certainly would not hesitate in recommending the cottage and Barnard Castle as a place to stay.
