Guests say

The Warren is a charming, cosy cottage just steps from a beautiful, quiet beach, making it ideal for dog walkers and those seeking a peaceful seaside escape. Guests consistently praise its warmth, well-equipped kitchen, and secure garden. Many appreciated thoughtful touches on arrival and found the cottage clean and welcoming. While some noted steep stairs, low beams, and a need for minor updates, the overall experience was overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return.

Multiple guests described the cottage as very clean and spotless, with no significant complaints about cleanliness. Only one review mentioned a need for decorative updates, but this did not relate to cleanliness.

The location is universally praised, with the cottage being described as almost on the beach, perfect for walks, and close to local amenities. Guests loved the peaceful setting and proximity to both the sea and walking routes.

Guests found the cottage warm, cosy, and comfortable, with many positive comments about the beds and living spaces. A few mentioned issues with steep stairs, low beams, and one found a mattress uncomfortable, but these were minor compared to the overall comfort.

The cottage is described as very well equipped, with everything needed for a self-catering stay. Some guests suggested minor additions (e.g., measuring jug, mixing bowls), and a few noted that some furnishings could be updated, but overall facilities were highly rated.

Many guests mentioned thoughtful welcome gifts such as wine, chocolates, milk, and flowers. While these gestures were greatly appreciated, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Firstly I would like to say I have never left a review before but on this occasion I felt that somethings needed to be made clear. We enjoyed our time at Bacton and this is just a cautionary tale. The pros.Proximity to the beach in second to none around 40m. The beach itself is spotlessly clean, and huge. We were the there on the spring bank holiday 2026 which was during the heat wave and whilst the beaches around us were rammed Bacton was practically empty, it was fantastic. The cottage was very well stocked with equipment and the beds were extremely comfortable. A nice welcome pack aswell. The cons. The stairs were ridiculously steep and not for the faint hearted. Anyone with knee problems might struggle. Headroom with some very low unpadded concrete beams were a challenge. The decorative order could do with an overhaul although we appreciate this has been done to be in keeping with the age of the property, and is down to personal taste.

3 The Warren is a real home from home with everything you would need for a self catering holiday at any time of year. It is a clean, comfortable, qwerky, little flint cottage literally about 30 seconds to the steps down onto the fantastic sandy beach - May to September it is a 'no dogs' beach, although people did take their dogs on it there. The dogs allowed beach is only a 3 minute walk up the sandy path and then you can walk north for miles with the dogs free. Bacton Woods is a couple of miles away and definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately the cottage is fully booked so we are going to have to wait until next year for a return stay!
