Located in the rural village of Tattersett, Acorn Cottage is an absolutely charming and characterful hideaway dating back to the 17th century. Featuring exposed walls and beautiful rustic accents, this divinely comfortable flint cottage exudes warmth and tranquillity whatever the time of year. Norfolk's stunning coastline can be reached in a mere 20-minutes by car.
Extended in 2014, the cottage retains all of its charm and character, retaining many of the original and quirky features of the period. Sympathetically styled, thoughtfully furnished, and featuring underfloor heating, the very spacious accommodation is perfect for a couple or two, or an older family. On the ground floor, you walk into an elegant L-shaped open plan and dual aspect living area. The dining area overlooks the garden that adjoins the kitchen and then flows through to a cosily furnished sun room featuring full length windows looking into the inner courtyard garden. There's no better spot to sit with a coffee to browse the weekend papers or plan your day ahead. From the sun room a door takes you through to the main sitting room which stretches the full length of the original cottage. A wood burning stove set into an inglenook fireplace fills the room with extra warmth and ambient light on chillier evenings. A snug area is curated at the other end of the room. Upstairs on the first floor, are two bedrooms (a king-size/ twin and a double), both with private en suite facilities. An additional wet room style shower is located on the ground floor, as well as a very useful utility/laundry room. Outside, the tastefully landscaped main garden at the back of the cottage comprises of raised beds around a paved seating area with dining table. Shingle paths lead to a raised pergola where you can sit or recline to relax after a day spent out and about. There is off-road parking for two cars available on the driveway.
Tattersett is a peaceful little village situated approximately nine miles inland from the North Norfolk coast and perfectly positioned as a base for enjoying and appreciating all things Norfolk - big skies, lovely walks, fabulous country houses, spectacular coastline and pretty villages galore to explore, be it on foot with your dogs or by bike for cycling enthusiasts.

Such a beautiful and cost cottage. We have enjoyed coming back here and hunkering down after wind swept walks on the beach. We shall return.

Lovely meal at the Dabbling Duck, I also tried a spot of glass-blowing at Langham Glass in Fakenham, the beach at Wells and Brancaster, and lovely Holt. We'd also recommend the RHS wildflower garden site at Bayfield. Holt very peaceful and dog friendly - excellent cake. We loved it here, thank you.

Great place to return to with all the family. So many places to explore with the children, great beaches and estates to visit, and a beautiful cottage to stay in. What's not to like?!
