Immerse yourselves in the natural beauty of the Norfolk Broads when you stay at this striking former granary in Stalham. Sleeping eight guests, and offering dog-friendly accommodation, the four-bedroom, three-storey abode makes an outstanding group holiday home. Ideal for an extended family or large party of friends, it comes with a superb outside space and a private mooring. Hire day boats or canoes and head out on trips along the waterways of the Broads or plan days out to the coast, 5 miles away.
Enter the characterful property to find yourselves in an inviting, beamed lounge. Plan games in here together, watch the Smart TV and take in the views out across the water. Stroll on through to the stunning, open-plan kitchen/diner, with its vaulted ceiling and doors out on to your outside space. Prepare hearty feasts for your family and friends then gather round the table for lively holiday meals. Sit on the sofa afterwards, with the doors open and a summer breeze drifting in. At the end of each exciting day, head upstairs to the bedrooms and bathrooms. A super-king-size, with beds that can also be arranged as twins by prior agreement, is on the first floor, together with a bunk bedroom and family shower room. A king-size, with en-suite bathroom, is on the floor above, along with a double bedroom. Open a bottle of wine or even dine outside by the water.
Explore the Norfolk Broads by boat, bicycle or on foot. Head out to the coast at Sea Palling, 5 miles away, to swim or try water sports. Plan a trip to Horsey Gap, 8 miles away, to see the seals lolling about on the sand. Organise a day trip into Norwich, 16 miles away.
Mr Mayhew
The Old Granary is spacious (huge kitchen) and really nicely furnished. Whilst it is not far off the main road and less than 10 minutes walk to the supermarket, it is a peaceful spot next to the Broads Museum. The icing on the cake for us was the access to the water. There were three of us, and with our paddleboard plus the kayak at the property we spent hours on the Broads - fantastic. We made several trips to the beach at Horsey Gap (take a walk down the footpath to get to the spot where the seals rest at low tide) - the Dunes Cafe at Waxham is a lovely place. It is still an easy drive to get up to Cromer. We've been to many holiday lets in Norfolk and this one is not in the area we would probably normally choose, but I would definitely go back because it was good value for the standard of the property, quiet location, and the access the Broads is a winner.
