Set in a quiet location with just a handful of other properties nearby, Pipistrelle Barn has been lovingly converted into a high end holiday accommodation for discerning guests who are really looking for something special. Boasting lots of original features, which have been carefully coupled with a light and airy contemporary feel, it boasts four bathrooms, three of which are en-suite, a stylish multi-fuel burner and a private hot tub. With a floating landing that sees you walk through the high ceilings on the first floor, this barn really is unique. And, at under 5 miles from the stunning North Norfolk Coast and just 10 miles from the Norfolk Broads, it is also in a great location to explore all that the area has to offer.
Head to the pretty seaside village of Mundesley with its wide sandy beach and unspoilt charm. Then, head west from there and find yourself in Cromer with its famous pier, Edwardian seafront, Amazonia Zoo and cinema. A little further is the bustling market town of Sheringham, popular with holidaymakers and locals alike. Head east to experience all the fun of the fair and explore the golden mile of Great Yarmouth. In fact, all along the coast in both directions you will find a string of coastal villages with various beach habitats, including grassy sand dunes, shingle and sand beaches, and marshes and quays.
History buffs will find much to see and do including The Blickling Estate and the Thursford and Muckleburgh Collections. Wildlife and nature fans can explore the Broads, Sheringham Park and Cley Marshes. For those wishing to explore on foot, you will find the nearby market town of North Walsham offers lots of places to eat and drink, and the woods offer picturesque walks. In fact, there is so much to see and do you will be pleased to head back to Pipistrelle Barn after a busy day to relax and unwind in the private hot tub. Beach 4 miles. We had a great week at Pipistrelle barn. Good points first it is very comfortable the beds were very comfy and it is very spacious for a group. It is very nicely decorated and well laid out with the bedrooms. It has a well stocked kitchen and the hot tub was lovely to use as well as the bbq. There was also plenty of outside seating to enjoy too in the patio area.The location is great it is really near to Mundesley beach and not far from a lot of others. It is also only a short walk into North Walsham which has a big supermarket and variety of shops, cafes and a choice of pubs nearby. There is a very good fish and chip restaurant up the road.We had a slight issue with the plumbing, at times the water pressure was quiet weak so the showers didn't always have great pressure. This wasn't all the time. Also in some of the showers it was hard to get the temperature right as it came out scalding hot or too cold. You just need to be careful and get the temperature right first. The owner was very good at responding when we had an issue and fixed it straight away, he was very helpful. The parking is tricky if you have a few cars. It is very tight turning in and out of there. We only had 3 cars but they were big cars.The only other thing was the smell from the chicken farm. It was very strong and at times quite unpleasant, you are in the countryside and this may not be as strong in the winter, it was very hot while we were there.We have still given a good rating as overall we genuinely had a great time and this is a great base for enjoying Norfolk.
