The Old Paybarn (ref UK39378) has a large and comfortable living room where you can sink into the comfortable sofas and warm up in front of the fire, before retiring to the comfortable beds. Here you can enjoy sweet dreams in the peaceful countryside, where the only sounds you will hear are bird songs and the sounds of the horses. The master bedroom is situated on the ground floor and has an en-suite, whilst located on the first floor is the second family bedroom. In addition to the exceptional finish, the barn has all the modern day comforts. If there are more in your party you can also book the Annexe at Park Farm barns (ref UK39379) which sleeps 2. The pleasant village of Snettisham offers something for everyone, whatever your age and whatever the weather! The beach here is enormous – wide and spacious. It lies almost 2 miles from the village centre and is a mixture of stone and sand, with a grassy area behind. At the southern end of Snettisham beach is the well-known rspb Nature Reserve. Here you will find a number of hides you can use without having to be a member. From the hides you can enjoy one of the country’s greatest wildlife spectacles. This is especially so when the rising high spring tides force thousands of birds to leave the mudflats where they are feeding and settle close to the hides.
Snettisham is a walker’s haven, particularly for dog owners, with the village having miles of public footpaths plus the ancient Peddars Way is found nearby. A firm favourite for children is Snettisham Park Farm, which is a working farm that offers hands-on activities. Along with the traditional farm animals, deer and llamas can be found here, plus tractor and trailer rides, making this a family fun day out. Again aimed at children, the traditional seaside town of Hunstanton with its sandy beach, promenade, sea-life centre and fairground rides is just a mere 5 miles away. For adults you will be spoilt for choice of where to visit first, with so many fantastic places to explore locally, such as the Royal Sandringham Estate, Holkham Hall, Norfolk Lavender and Houghton Hall to name just a few. Beach, shop and pub within 3 miles.

The Old Pay Barn far exceeded my expectations, being bigger than it appeared from pictures and being in an idyllic, peaceful position, yet only a few minutes walk down footpaths into the village.I was aware of the spiral staircase which was very narrow, and although as a fairly fit 80 year old, I coped ok with it, some people might struggle and I'm not sure it would be suitable for young children, but this is made clear in the details given of the property. The beds were very comfortable and all the equipment was of good quality. One small criticism would be that there was not very much storage space in the family bedroom, although it was not a problem for me as I was on my own up there. I would definitely returrn there if I had the opportunity.

A well equipped and comfortable property. With a utility room, large kitchen, lounge, conservatory and downstairs en suite double bedroom, this alone would make a great rental property. There’s more seating area outside than we realised, and the beds are excellent and extremely comfy. Upstairs there is the 2nd bathroom, along with a double bedroom and also a single bed. There is quite a tight spiral staircase up to what essentially appears to be a mezzanine floor. Whilst there is good storage, the access to this is a bit awkward due to the slope of the roof. We were aware when we booked it was sloped but not quite how it meant for moving about. I’m 5’3, and, apart from the bathroom, the only place in the bedroom itself where I could stand up straight was in the door frame. That said, as we were only staying for 3 nights, it was manageable but for 5 people it has its limitations.
