About this property

Nestled in the seaside resort of Caister-on-Sea, just paces away from a long sandy beach, rests this flint-fronted cottage, Fisherman's Cottage, an 1850s cottage that has been fully renovated with all new interior. This two-bedroom mid-terrace is ideal for two couples seeking an exciting getaway with lots to see and do. Step inside to discover the living/dining room, beautifully presented in deep and light blues to mirror the coastal location; unwind on the sofa or curl up in the armchairs. There is a large Smart TV, with wifi to do the entertaining and when dinner is served gather around the dining table to toast to a wonderful time away. Moving through the cottage, locate the white-glossed kitchen units, hosting an oven, hob, coffee machine and microwave to rustle up tasty dishes and there is a washer/dryer and dishwasher to assist with the cleaning-up. Throw open the back door to find the courtyard garden with furniture to bask in the sun on warm days and why not dine alfresco to change things up? As the sky grows dark, retreat up the stairs to choose between two delightful double bedrooms, with a dresser and sliding wardrobe to house your belongings and smart sockets for charging your phones. Awaken with a refreshing rinse in the ground-floor shower room before joining your guests in the kitchen to make a cup of tea. 52 Beach Road is excellently positioned for a self-catered stay with four pubs all within walking distance, a selection of restaurants close-by and takeaways if you fancy a movie night in! You’ll find a variety of local amenities in Caister-on-Sea, including a bakery, butchers and supermarkets. The coastal village has miles of beautiful sandy beaches and dunes to explore, and is home to the renowned Caister Lifeboat Station, there is also horse racing and a greyhound stadium, both of which have their own restaurants and provide a great night out within easy reach. To escape the hustle and bustle, explore the Norfolk Broads, an area of outstanding beauty, which you can explore either on foot or a bike; there is also Winterton Beach for some more tranquillity nearby. Jump in the car and visit the medieval city of Norwich, home to a Romanesque Cathedral, an ancient castle where can you enjoy a guided tour or test your skills at the Hollywood Bowl for an evening out. The only issue for us and why top marks weren't given was the steepness of the staircase as my wife suffers from very bad arthritis and maybe this should have been mentioned. The other reason was that we found it difficult to open and close the key safe. The above are not a criticism as Fisherman's Cottage was one best we have stayed in, but maybe not the best for over 75s.

The quality of the cottage is exceptional and whilst it was a little smaller than expected, it took nothing away from our stay, it was very cute! The elevation of the staircase provided much hilarity, especially after a couple of drinks! A beautiful place, particularly when you see the huge improvements the owners have made. Well done.

It was decorated to a really high standard and had everything you needed to cook a meal. We really enjoyed staying there.
