About this property

Situated in the Lincolnshire Wolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you’ll find Spilsby Country Hall. This stunning Grade II listed building, set among rolling hills and backed by enchanting woodland, features everything you could need for a relaxing weekend retreat, family holiday, wedding, or private function. The hall boasts fifteen individually designed bedrooms and a variety of stylish and spacious reception rooms, as well as a 16-person hot tub, and picturesque grounds that feature a Grade I listed chapel, extensive lake, and oriental garden.

Upon entering Spilsby Country Hall guests will be wowed by the grand entrance hall, dominated by a gorgeous red-carpeted staircase under an arch of huge and curved tusk-like structures. Each reception room is influenced by a different cultural style, with the club room drawing inspiration from China, with red and aqua tones, soft leather armchairs and beautiful rugs, it is the perfect room to enjoy a whisky and maybe a game of cards. The drawing room has an Italian flavour with opulent dark matte walls, cream toned armchairs and rugs, and red leather sofas. Huge bay windows in this room create lots of light to counteract the darker decor, and provides a lovely ambience which makes this the perfect after dinner conversation room to retire to.

Other living spaces within Spilsby Country include the cinema room, inspired by Bollywood and perfect for a romantic film night, or for watching a fun movie with the kids, and the Fornasetti sitting room, a room with an intimate atmosphere and Italian styling. For a more formal dining experience to bring all the guests together, the main dining room seats up to 35 people and is tastefully and elegantly decorated. This room can also be used for functions or parties, with an enclave perfect for a DJ or band.

Spilsby Country Hall’s eclectic style and quirky charm continues into the bedrooms, most with spacious en -suite facilities. With names such as Oriental Bedroom, Tree of Life Bedroom, Bijoux Bedroom, Psychedelic Bedroom, and West Wing, each of the fifteen bedrooms have been individually designed and lavishly decorated, drawing on influences from around the globe.

The outdoor areas of the extensive and beautiful property are just as impressive as the interior, with a stunning patio terrace and outdoor furniture. The wonderfully manicured lawns are perfect for lounging on during a hot summer’s day, or for that perfect photograph if you are celebrating an event. There are also ancient woodlands to explore, which boast over 30 different species of holly tree and make for a relaxing after dinner walk, while offering stunning views of the hall. Following Spilsby Country Hall’s theme of celebrating many world cultures, the Japanese gardens give guests a tranquil and peaceful area to unwind. It’s elegant simplicity and floating design makes this a delightful area to indulge in some privacy and ‘me’ time. Spilsby Country Hall is located on the doorstep of the Lincolnshire Wolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the highest area of land in eastern England between Yorkshire and Kent. The area is rich in unspoilt landscapes and pretty hamlets and villages, the names of which indicate the strong Viking influence on the areas history. The area is popular with hikers with the Viking Way long-distance footpath running from Barton-upon-Humber in North Lincolnshire and across the Wolds into Rutland. There are also an abundance of medieval ‘lost villages’ in the area, settlements that have been abandoned due to soil exhaustion or changes in land use.

The area is linked to its most famous resident, Tennyson, and it is possible to visit the room where the Victorian poet was born, as well as the churchyard where is buried. Other cultural attractions in the area include the historic market town of Louth, home to the highest parish church spire in England, and the plethora of National Trust stately homes and castles. There are charming market towns and villages nestled in and around the Wolds where visitors can buy fresh local produce, and visit quaint cafes and tea rooms, and history buffs will enjoy learning about the rich aviation history of the area via the patchworks of airfields and RAF museums dotted across the county.
