Warner Lea is a cosy and well-situated cottage in Windermere, offering a comfortable stay with spacious rooms and a homely feel. Its excellent location allows for easy access to Bowness and local amenities, with guests enjoying the area's beauty. While some maintenance issues were noted, the property's charm and value for money were consistently praised.
The property generally appears to be clean, but there are reports of dirty kitchen utensils and glassware, as well as some cleanliness oversights upon arrival. These instances suggest room for improvement in ensuring a consistently high standard of cleanliness.
The cottage's location is highly praised for its proximity to Bowness and local attractions, making it an ideal base for exploring the area. Guests appreciate the convenience and the ease of access to nearby dining and activities.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the rooms cosy, contributing to a pleasant stay. However, some discomfort was caused by issues with the boiler and heating, as well as a problematic shower, which affected the overall comfort level.
While the property is appreciated for its space and homely atmosphere, several guests encountered issues with the boiler, shower, and kitchen appliances. These maintenance concerns indicate a need for attention to ensure the facilities meet guest expectations.
There is a lack of consistent mention of welcome gifts or additional thoughtful touches. While some guests noted the absence of items like milk or logs for the fire, these are not guaranteed and vary by stay.

Beautiful cottage, loved the cosy feel, and bedrooms were a generous size.

Lots of good things- location, value for money, homely- but think the owners need to put more in the manual about the place- a few mornings we woke up in the freezing cold and nothing in the manual about how central heating worked

Really nice house and spacious rooms. Boiler wouldnt work and we had to consult the manual to reset it, which only worked for a few minutes before it showed a fault again. Mesaged the host about this and they didnt reply for 24 hours, we were only staying 2 nights. When they eventually replied we had already gone out for the day and taken the keys with us so no one could get in to look at the boiler while we were out. Also the dishwasher tablet holder wouldnt close so we couldnt use the dishwasher. Overall a really nice house, cosy, spacious rooms, but a shame about the boiler and slow responses.
