We have stayed at The Swan Hotel many times in the past and absolutely loved it hence why we keep coming back. The decor is really cute, food delicious and facilities great. I have always had really positive things to say about The Swan but unfortunately this time I feel the standards have started to slip- the nests now are a bit shabby (paint peeling, sofas very worn etc) and the roof leaked in the main room when the using one of the showers upstairs, which is poor considering the cost. The main pool facilities and showers also are quite run down and there was black mould in the tiling of the pool. I feel the customer service isn't as good as it used to be as well, it can be very difficulty to get through to anyone knowledgeable. For example, we booked into the 'Spa Party', given this was over dinner time we wanted to enquire if food was available, I had some difficulty getting in contact with someone and left a message for someone to ring me back. I never received a call back and I had to ring up twice more to try to retrieve this information. When I got through to someone the Staff member didn't seem knowledgeable and informed us that we could book in for food before the party but there probably wouldn't be food available in the spa. However when we attended the party there was pizza available so we were given incorrect information, which would've been helpful for our stay. It makes me sad to have to leave a bad review when we have had such fabulous experiences in the past, I just really think the nests and facilities need an update/ some love and attention- if they do this we will certainly come back but for now we will look to go elsewhere.

A three-generation family holiday. A very spacious cottage…plenty of room for all eight of us. We didn’t have enough crockery and cutlery, but more was delivered. The sofas were not very comfortable. There were no chairs as per the pictures but two high backed chairs were delivered to us. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The whole cottage needs a deep clean and re-decorating. It has lots of potential. The beds are very comfortable and the towels were nice and thick. Pool towels are available (free) at the pool…be warned…the changing rooms were filthy. We had a very nice Sunday roast and a cooked breakfast at The Swan…would highly recommend. Greater attention to cleanliness and making sure the cottage lived up to the expectations of the photos would avoid disappointment.

Some slight issues but would go again. Lovely family holiday. Great pool and play area. Nice walk to Lakeside but no where else yo walk to.
