The Blencathra lodge itself is very average, nothing special with the bare minimum of kitchen utensils/dining crockery etc. No Nespresso maker, which I thought was more or less standard in a Hoseasons lodge these days, but a cafetière is provided. Large fridge freezer, dishwasher. Plenty of towels provided. The hot tub was pleasant and clean, but is quite separate from the lodge round the corner and down a lot of steps…it doesn’t feel like it’s part of the unit at all, especially at night it felt very isolated. It was getting cold at night when we stayed and we couldn’t get the fire to work. Felt quite disappointed with the overall experience, shame really as I’d been waiting quite a while to try this one, was really looking forward to being in the lakes again and expected a lot more from it.

Beds not that comfortable., very thin matresses could feep the slats of the bed frame. One of the recliner chairs was broken so unusable in recline position.
