Please note: There are 5 steps in the grounds.. This delightful and charming, semi-detached Grade II listed cottage, adjacent to the owners home, dates from the 1600s and is set in its own delightful garden and with access to the owners’ grounds, in the quiet village of Little Strickland. Great care has been taken with the accommodation and it offers many interesting features including slate floors, and the beamed ceilings and wonderful wood burner all add to the character of The Barracks, making it well worth a visit whatever the time of year.
While Haweswater and Ullswater are a short drive from the cottage, the list of places you can explore and visit from here are endless, with the Eden valley and the Scottish Borders are all within easy driving distance. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Beautiful cottage, located in a really quiet village with dog walks from the door. Location is great for easy access to Ullswater, Keswick and Windermere. We found the beds and sofa really comfortable and had everything we needed. Although the shower in the bedroom is unusual, it didn't cause us any issues. Another WC would have been useful.
