Please note: There are 5 steps in the grounds.. This delightful and charming, semi-detached Grade II listed cottage, adjacent to the owners home, dates from the 1600s and is set in its own delightful garden and with access to the owners’ grounds, in the quiet village of Little Strickland. Great care has been taken with the accommodation and it offers many interesting features including slate floors, and the beamed ceilings and wonderful wood burner all add to the character of The Barracks, making it well worth a visit whatever the time of year.
While Haweswater and Ullswater are a short drive from the cottage, the list of places you can explore and visit from here are endless, with the Eden valley and the Scottish Borders are all within easy driving distance. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

A gorgeously comfotable cottage which had everything we needed for our week away. The beds were super comfy and the log burner perfect for the chilly evenings. The cottage is set back off the road and thebgardens were perfect for our dogs to wander and explore. This was a great base for exploring the Lake District and I'd highly recommend.

A lovely, characterful and fully renovated old cottage with charming gardens. The property was very clean and well maintained. The cottage is situated in a small village with no facilities, but with easy road access to nearby villages and towns as well as the main attractions in the Northern Lake district. We loved our stay!

This was a Beautiful Cottage had a lovely feel to it lovely surroundings enjoyed our stay there only thing i would say is if you have a dog not many walking places for them also there is a nice chippy and a co-op but they are not within walking distance.
