Danika East offers a cosy and affordable base for exploring the northern Lake District, particularly suited to short stays and hiking trips. Guests appreciate the peaceful location, ease of access, and value for money. While the cottage is compact and well-equipped for basic needs, some found it smaller than expected and noted thin walls and limited storage. Cleanliness is generally good, though a few guests mentioned minor issues. The property is ideal for those seeking a simple, comfortable place to rest after days out, rather than for extended stays or those needing complete silence.
Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with praise for the cleaner's efforts. However, a few mentioned it could have been cleaner or noted the absence of a broom for floor cleaning.
The location is frequently highlighted as a strong point, offering easy access to the Lake District and a peaceful setting, though one guest found it hard to locate initially.
The cottage is described as cosy and comfortable for short stays, but its small size, thin walls, and occasional noise from neighbours or plumbing may affect comfort for some guests, especially on longer visits.
Facilities are basic but adequate for short stays, with a fridge, microwave, toaster, and kettle provided. The lack of a cooker, limited storage, no laundry area, and inability to control heating were noted as drawbacks.
There were no mentions of thoughtful touches or gifts in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

Good place to sleep and plan where to go Not a massive place but that didn't bother me and my partner too much as we only were gonna sleep in there and spend the days out

Perfect location but smaller than it looked on the pictures and could have been cleaner.

Beautiful location, easy accesible. The unit was split and walls were thin. We could hear all other occupants. Not bad for a place to put your head
