We enjoyed our week, in spite of the weather, it is the lake district but a day or two of sun would have been good, it was actually grey most of the time. Great position for northern lakes, virtually next to Ullswater, Pooley has all the basic provisions in two shops and a great bookshop with coffee and cakes. It's 15 mins to Aira and easy to get to other lakes.It was good to come back to warm comfortable accommodation.

Beautiful, comfortable cottage. It was actually more spacious than we were expecting and had everything we needed. The location was great and it was lovely to be able to do a walk straight from the door, with views over Ullswater. Also enjoyed the nearby playground and riverside for our little boy.
