Guests say

The Coach House in Fowey is praised for its excellent location, with easy access to walks and wildlife. Guests appreciate the property's seclusion, ample parking, and spacious garden. While some find the cottage cosy and well-equipped, others suggest it could benefit from refurbishment and attention to maintenance. The property is considered a good value for large families and a great base for exploring the Lake District.

Reviews generally indicate that the cottage is clean inside, though some guests noted areas that could be improved, such as skirting boards and walls. The garden's upkeep was mentioned as an issue on arrival, but was addressed during the stay.

The location is highly praised for its central position, accessibility to walks, and proximity to local towns. Road noise was mentioned but did not significantly detract from the overall experience.

Guests find the property cosy and the garden enjoyable. However, some guests mentioned that the furniture, including beds and sofas, could be more comfortable and that the property is more suitable for smaller groups.

The cottage is well-equipped, but several reviews mention the need for maintenance and updates, including appliance repairs, furniture refurbishment, and Wi-Fi reliability. The presence of wildlife and ample parking are positives.

There is insufficient information regarding thoughtfulness, such as gifts or special touches provided by the host, to accurately assess this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

The pretty village of Grasmere is just down the road, where you can explore Dove Cottage, famous as one of Wordsworth’s earlier homes where he and his sister spent 8 years of ‘plain living, but high thinking’. It was here he wrote his most famous work, ‘I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud’, and is now a fantastic museum about the writer. Grasmere also offers a selection of bars and restaurants, tea rooms and independent shops, where you can try some of the world famous Grasmere gingerbread. Slightly further afield, but not too far, explore Ambleside and Windermere, where you can enjoy steamer rides, the World of Beatrix Potter, rowing or swing amongst the treetops at Go Ape. Great location to access the lakes. Lovely setting even if weather bad. Lots of walks right on the doorstep.Wildlife on the doorstep. This is a lovely cottage albeit a few areas require some attention to the paintwork where tired and a leaking sink. But didn't spoil the holiday with modern appliances and was cosy.

Gorgeous little cottage in a nice spot. Really handy for walks round Rydal and the coffin trail. I had a wonderful birthday weekend with my family here and would stay again. We found it really quiet and my daughter was amazed by the cave and nearby waterfall. Would be lovely in the summer to make use of the little patio & watch the birds. She also loved finding (and hiding) the Japanese owls. Beds were comfy and facilities were good, incl. the WiFi signal. We did however find it really difficult to locate in the dark with the instructions given. Its a very short path up to the gate and in the dark/autumn leaves covering it, it just looks like a bit of verge and is easy to mis. Recommend using these what 3 words for the path up coming from Ambleside: (gone migrate transmits) and from Grasmere, its just after the red post box a few metres before this coordinate. I pased it twice and had to call for help and the two of us ended up using google maps street view to find it

The place is beautiful, the house has all the amenities needs to spend a few days and the location is amazing. The only thing to improve is communication, we tried to reach the host via app and telephone a few times and we never goat a response. The only communication we received was the schedule ones.
