We were very happy with Elterwater. It is in a lovely area and close to a lot of amenities. You do need a car but everything is close by. I also had cause to speak to the owner and they were helpful. Unfortunately we had to leave early due to our dog having an injured paw, We hope to return.

Lovely lodge in a beautiful area. Very quiet. Loads of great walk from the door and so many classics only a short ride away. The weather was far from kind but the covered veranda was excellent for drying our furry companions. An excellent stay despite the weather.

Excellent location for exploring the area. Lodge was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. It’s located on a quiet woodland site and we enjoyed using the small indoor swimming pool and sauna (take some £1 coins for the sauna). There are some lovely walks you can take from the site and it’s just a short walk to the local pub.
