Garden with garden furniture. ½ acre grounds (shared with owner). Electric vehicle charging point. Private parking. No smoking. There is an ornamental fish pond in the grounds.. Situated besides the picturesque River Duddon, one of Wordsworth’s favourite places, Whistling Green allows easy access to the lakes of Windermere and Coniston. This comfortable wing of the owner’s traditional Cumbrian farmhouse, set in half an acre of shared grounds has a large beamed living/dining room with rugs on a polished wood floor, is surrounded by open moorland with grazing sheep and wonderful views up the valley. The area offers fell walking, sailing and riding at Coniston, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway and an exhilarating drive over Hardknott Pass to visit the Roman Fort and much more. Families will enjoy the sand and shingle beach at Silecroft, 8 miles. Fishing is available within 5 miles. A local pub serving excellent food 3 miles up the valley.

We had a fabulous stay here This September 2025 away from everything and self catered taking everything we needed with us as its idyllically remote .it was so peaceful and excellent for mountainbiking and walking.Varied weather which suited us as we dont mind the rain.The views are wonderful from the property.
