Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wifi inlcuded. Starter pack of wood for open fire provided. (Additional fire wood available to buy onsite.) Laundry room with washing machine (shared with owner). Garden with garden furniture. ½ acre grounds (shared with owner). Electric vehicle charging point. Private parking. No smoking. There is an ornamental fish pond in the grounds.. Situated besides the picturesque River Duddon, one of Wordsworth’s favourite places, Whistling Green allows easy access to the lakes of Windermere and Coniston. This comfortable wing of the owner’s traditional Cumbrian farmhouse, set in half an acre of shared grounds has a large beamed living/dining room with rugs on a polished wood floor, is surrounded by open moorland with grazing sheep and wonderful views up the valley. The area offers fell walking, sailing and riding at Coniston, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway and an exhilarating drive over Hardknott Pass to visit the Roman Fort and much more. Families will enjoy the sand and shingle beach at Silecroft, 8 miles. Fishing is available within 5 miles. A local pub serving excellent food 3 miles up the valley.

    Whistling Green is in an idyllic location with lovely walks from the door. Other areas of the Lakes are easily accessible. A few pubs a short drive away served good food. The cottage itself was comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
