About this property

Enter to the first floor where you will find a handy porch and cloakroom. Continue through to the left through the airy dining area and onto the sitting room with luxurious furnishings and woodburning stove with a wall width window pouring light into the room and of course a beautiful view towards Windermere. There is a separate modern kitchen with breakfast table, perfect for preparing a tasty meal before heading out to explore. On this level there is also a bright king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room with basin and WC. Head downstairs to find the two further bedrooms, one with en-suite and separate shower room with underfloor heating. Both these bedrooms have superb views offer gardens and to the mountains beyond. On warm days relish the lovely grounds that join the neighbouring property The Grange and your portion of the gardens with private outdoor seating.

Windermere is a prime location for soaking up the best of the Lake District. The headquarters of Lakeland Ltd is a must for anyone who likes to get creative in the kitchen. Windermere high street has a traditional butcher and a selection of shops selling local produce. Just a walk or short taxi ride away, the bustling village of Bowness nestles on the eastern shores of Lake Windermere. Hire boats and row boats bob on the water in Bowness Bay, while Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly to Ambleside and Lakeside. The cruises offer buffet meals and live music during summer evening cruises.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.

Well equipped kitchen and toiletries provided, which was more than what we expected. It was a short walk to the centre of Windermere and the lake. 40 minutes walk to the centre of Bowness. Altogether a lovely cottage to relax in with plenty of space for the whole family.

3 showers, a bath, 4 toilets and a washer and dryer, perfect for a family of 5. Close to all shops, the train station, visitors centre and perfect for local walks;Orrest head nearby is an easy walk and can go further once at the top, this was recommended by the owner. Would also recommend Golden Mountain Chinese restaurant and The Little Chippy Takeaway just a short walk away from The Grange.
