The cottage makes a great base for exploring Ambleside, Windermere, Grasmere, and many other Lake District locations, all within 10 miles. The World of Beatrix Potter is less than 500 metres away here, the characters from these well known books are brought to life. At nearby Brockholes Activity Centre (3 miles) you can enjoy mini golf, tree top trampolines, zip lines, kayaking and archery. Walk up to Orrest Head (just over 1 mile), the first summit in Lakeland visited by A. Wainwright, author of the famous guidebooks, where you can drink in the outstanding views.
