Explore the local town, where right on your doorstep you will find a fantastic selection of pubs and restaurants, including The Pig serving traditional British cuisine and Francine’s offering fresh seafood. Keen walkers and outdoor enthusiasts can sample some of the best views in the area from the viewpoints of Queen Adelaide’s Hill and Orrest Head, both of which look out towards the Langdale Pikes. Your prime position means you are just moments away from the famous Lake Windermere, offering ample watersports opportunities, including kayaking and paddleboarding. Other attractions within the town include, The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, Windermere Jetty Museum and the excellent Windermere Golf Club. Continue on to Ambleside, where you can visit the Armitt Library and Museum Centre or the picturesque Stock Ghyll Force, or if that isn’t your thing, head to Grasmere, where you can visit the former home of the great poet, William Wordsworth, now managed by the National Trust. Further afield you will find the imposing peaks of Helvellyn and Fairfield to add to your holiday itinerary. All this and more awaits at Claife Heights.

Each of the Lake District's two thriving twin towns of Bowness and Windermere has its own unique personality and charm. There are a wide variety of shops and restaurants in both towns, as well as a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium, and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey, which is located in Ambleside. Many enjoyable walks, mountain biking, and an adventure park called "Go Ape" are all available at nearby Grizedale Forest Park in a short drive. National Trust properties and water sports are also available in the area for those who prefer a more action-packed vacation. Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick, and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy driving distance of the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness.

Clean, spacious, lovely views and 2 minutes walk to Windamere Town centre. We loved it.

It was a lovely apartment and facilities were excellent. We would just like to point out one thing. Although there is a note in the main front door asking people to make sure the door is closed completely, but the last two days we were there this did not happen. The door needs to slammed to for this to happen so perhaps a better note might help.
