Many enjoyable walks, mountain biking, and an adventure park called "Go Ape" are all available at nearby Grizedale Forest Park in a short drive. National Trust properties and water sports are also available in the area for those who prefer a more action-packed vacation. Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick, and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy driving distance of the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness.
