This is a stylish, contemporary cottage in the the village of Satterthwaite in the heart of Grizedale Forest. Bobtail Cottage is a beautiful barn conversion and has it's own private patio and secure bike storage. The village has a country pub for meals if you don't feel like cooking and tennis courts nearby if you are feeling energetic. Hawkshead is 4 miles away and Grizedale Visitor Centre only 1 mile away with it's sculpture trails, mountain bike routes and GO-APE - a tree top assault course.
Lakeland stone steps take you to the first floor and a stable door entrance. The delightful open plan living area and dining room has large windows to make the most of the stunning views. Combine this with high standard furnishings and an elegant woodburning stove and traditional beams and you have created the perfect room to relax in. There is a flat screen TV (with Sky Freeview), DVD, ipod dock and wifi access.
The kitchen has been designed beautifully with granite work tops to make use of the space and offers electric oven with halogen hob, dishwasher, washing machine/drier, fridge, freezer and microwave. On this floor is a bedroom with king size bed and a luxury power shower room and then downstairs to the second double bedroom complete with en-suite bathroom (with shower over the bath) also with power shower facility and from this level is access to a patio area - ideal for al-fresco dining.
The cottage is heated throughout by electric central heating and underfloor heating making Bobtail Cottage cosy and ideal for use all year round.
Outside there is a small enclosed private patio with garden furniture and a private parking space adjacent to the property (plus garage). There is secure bike storage in the garage if required.
This is a perfect cottage for couples who want to enjoy the delights of the Forest and then relax in luxurious, comfortable surroundings.

A very well-equipped cottage, very comfortable and handy for the local pub. If you want to get away from everyone it's the place to go.

Bobtail Cottage is a well equipped, comfortable cottage set in a beautiful location. We had a wonderful stay and are looking forward to returning in the future.

Satterthwaite is a bit remote but we knew this. You just need to be organised with your shopping for milk, bread etc as the village does not have a shop. What you get is - - a fabulous cottage with great views - peace and quiet - a great pub serving good beer and food less than 5 minutes walk away - a bridleway path leading out of the village and via a bit of a climb, linking with one of the Grizedale forest trails allowing easy off road cycling to Go Ape and the Forestry Centre at Grizedale - a circular walk from the end of the lane the cottage is on, through the woods and round to enter the village on the road passing the pub! - what's not to like?
