Attractions and landmarks in this historic market town include the popular Penrith and Eden Museum and the remains of Penrith Castle. A walk to Penrith Beacon offers breathtaking views of the region. Also nearby are Brougham Castle, Hutton in the Forest and the National Trust s Acorn Bank (all within 7.5 miles). Heading into the Lake District, you can visit Dalemain Mansion and Historic Gardens, Lowther Castle and Gardens, and the northern edge of Ullswater (all within 7 miles). On the way to the North Pennines, you can explore Lacy s Caves (6 miles) and the Glassonby Stone Circle (9.5 miles).
