Its quiet, tranquil location is ideal for exploring the Lake District, with many guests appreciating the peaceful setting. The cottage is dog-friendly, adding to its charm. Some guests noted issues with comfort due to the sofas and mattresses, and minor maintenance points were raised, but overall, the property offers a cosy and enjoyable stay.

The majority of guests found Barn Roost to be very clean and tidy, with several positive comments on its cleanliness. There were no significant complaints about cleanliness, indicating high standards are maintained.

Guests loved the quiet, tranquil setting of Barn Roost, ideal for relaxation and as a base for exploring the Lake District. Some found it more remote than expected, but the peacefulness and proximity to walks and lakes were highly valued.

While bedding was often described as comfortable, several guests mentioned that the sofas and mattresses could be improved. The presence of uncomfortable furniture has led to a lower comfort score, despite the cosy atmosphere of the cottage.

The cottage is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and guests appreciated the conservatory for drying clothes. However, some guests reported issues with the shower, cooker, and vacuum cleaner, suggesting room for improvement in maintenance.

There is insufficient information to score thoughtfulness accurately. While some guests mentioned a lack of welcome packs and local amenity guides, there were no consistent references to gifts or extra thoughtful touches that could be evaluated.

Had a problem with no hot water. The issue I had was that when I wanted to report the issue ALL phone numbers provided were closed for the evening/ night. Totally unacceptable. Once I had reported it the next morning I was told it would be fixed thatday and when I came back in the afternoon it was. No problem once reported but there should be out of hours contact
