Guests say

Moore Cottage in Millom is highly praised for its stunning views, well-equipped facilities, and cleanliness. Guests appreciate the inclusion of essentials and the hot tub, though some noted minor issues with maintenance and comfort. The property's location in a complex offers convenience but may affect tranquility for those seeking isolation.

Guests consistently mention the property being very clean, with quality furnishings and fresh decorations. The hot tub is also noted as clean, contributing to a high cleanliness score.

The location is described as fantastic, with a convenient shop and pub nearby. However, one review mentioned it being noisier than expected due to the complex setting, slightly lowering the score.

The property is generally found to be comfortable, with quality bed linen and towels. Some guests found the beds firmer than expected and one mentioned a damp bed, which slightly reduces the comfort score.

Facilities are well-regarded, with a hot tub and well-equipped kitchen. However, issues with underfloor heating and a lack of smart TV as advertised, along with some minor maintenance concerns, affect the score.

While the reviews reflect a thoughtful provision of essentials and facilities, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would warrant a score in this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

Actually Brockwood Hall where it is situated is a complex with lodges. Therefore, it was much noisier and more frenetic than we are used to. The property itself is a beautiful character dwelling with fabulous period features. However, the underfloor heating didn't work properly and other lodges seemed to be able to control our TV signal! We did report our issues via WhatsApp initially, which is what the brochure suggested and then, during a named storm to the restaurant on site as it was tough to find the out of hours service protocol. The maintenance operative came up from Millom and helped but it took a while for the site manager to deal with us or indeed leave a note. I would imagine that this Cottage will become cold as the autumn and winter progress. This is as, even though there are fires in the bedrooms and lounge the warmest room seems to be the downstairs w c. Apparently it has been a year and a half that the underfloor heating has not worked? Would an owner really leave it that long? I was surprised and even more perturbed that the WhatsApp contact directed us to First Group South Africa initially! All in all a lovely cottage but not really tranquil as lots of noise from other lodge guests and why there couldn't have been a property book regarding maintenance issues I am not sure as it is a decent interval since Covid. There was a hot tub at site but we didn't use it as the property was overlooked and it was cold and we didn't know how to use it. Decor lovely but some basics need attention as per above comments.

The cottage was really nice and comfortable, quality furnishings and bed linen and towels, very clean through out. Our granddaughter loved the hot tub. The staff were very helpful and friendly we could not fault the place. There was a couple of minor things such as only one small frying pan and no hooks in one of the bedrooms to hang things like dressing gowns, not major and did not impact our stay, just giving the feedback for the owners. We have stayed in a number of cottages over the years and this one is high on our list, would highly recommend the cottage .

The Hot Tub is private and amazing in the evenings. Hosts are really welcoming and helpful. Will definitely stay again
