Guests say

Millie's Cottage in Keswick is highly praised for its excellent location close to the town centre and Derwent Water, making it a convenient base for exploring the area. Guests consistently mention the cottage is well-equipped, comfortable, and modern, with thoughtful touches throughout. While most found the property clean and cosy, a few noted occasional lapses in cleanliness and minor maintenance issues. Parking can be a little tricky due to narrow streets, but overall, guests enjoyed their stays and many would happily return.

Most guests found the cottage clean and well-presented, but a few mentioned issues such as damp or stained towels, a dirty air fryer, and some areas (like under sofa cushions or the top bedroom) needing more attention. These were outweighed by the majority of positive comments.

The location is frequently described as excellent, with easy access to Keswick town centre and local attractions. The only minor drawback mentioned is the challenge of on-street parking, but this did not significantly detract from guests' experiences.

Guests consistently report that the cottage is comfortable, warm, and quiet, with modern bathrooms and a cosy living area. The property is suitable for families and provides a restful environment.

The cottage is praised for being very well-equipped, with a modern kitchen, dishwasher, air fryer, washer/dryer, and games. Minor issues such as a faulty cafetiere and a fridge replacement were noted but addressed promptly.

Guests appreciated the attention to detail, such as games and local information. However, there were some comments about the lack of complimentary items like extra dishwasher tablets or toilet rolls. No gifts were mentioned, so guests should not expect these as standard.

I loved my stay at Millie's Cottage, booked at two days' notice due to last minute heatwave-related travel changes. It was comfortable, clean and so quiet! At times all I could hear was birdsong. Nice kitchen and bathrooms, and lots of greenery out of the back window. And just a short walk from the town centre. I found it odd that the email said 'There are open, steep, spiral or narrow stairs at the property' but there was no picture of them. Sadly, though, I can't give 5 stars due to the state of the towels. I could barely find one that wasn't stained in various ways, short of going through every single one in the house. Happily, this is easily rectified (I hope!), so I don't hesitate to recommend Millie's as a place to stay.

Great little holiday cottage. Perfect for our family of Mum, Dad and 2 grown up kids.It is located a short walk from the town centre and about a 15 minute walk from the Lakeshore. The modern kitchen is extremely well equipped, although is narrow, so one person cooking at a time. The bathroom and shower room are modern and clean.

This is the third time we have stayed in Millies Cottage so sure evidence that we like it. However this time I was disappointed to find a dirty air fryer, a scrap of toilet roll in one of the bathrooms, (surely a nice gesture would be to have a loo roll in each provided at the start of each stay), and only one dishwasher tablet. Some of us don't have dishwashers at home so would have to buy more than we need if we wanted to use the luxury 'only on holiday' facility, for the price we pay for the cottage it would not be much to ask for one tablet for each days stay. Other than those 3 things we love it there!
