Guests say

Littlethwaite in Keswick is a spacious and well-equipped cottage, highly praised for its stunning views and convenient location for exploring the area. Guests appreciate the comfortable living spaces, pool table, and garden, making it ideal for families and groups. While some mention minor maintenance issues and occasional lapses in cleanliness, the overall experience is very positive, with many guests returning multiple times. The property is particularly valued for its proximity to local walks and amenities, and its welcoming atmosphere ensures a memorable stay.

Most guests found the property clean and tidy, especially the towels and bedlinen, but several reviews mention areas needing more attention, such as the kitchen, bathrooms, and carpets. Some guests noted stained bedding and towels with an odour, suggesting occasional inconsistency in cleaning standards.

The location is frequently highlighted as excellent, with beautiful views and easy access to Keswick and local attractions. Guests appreciated being able to walk into town and enjoy nearby walks, making it a prime spot for exploring the Lake District.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as spacious and comfortable, with ample room for groups and families. The beds and living areas are praised, though a few mention worn furniture and minor issues with curtains and windows. Overall, comfort is a strong point.

The cottage is well-equipped, with a pool table, garage, garden furniture, and a well-stocked kitchen. Some maintenance issues are noted, such as broken garden furniture, dribbly showers, and heavy curtains, but these do not detract significantly from the overall positive experience.

While guests appreciated festive decorations at Christmas and some thoughtful touches, there is no mention of guaranteed gifts or welcome packs. Some noted a lack of consumables like toilet roll and hand soap, so guests may wish to bring their own essentials.

We really enjoyed our stay the house was lovely bigger than expected and a lovely garden. It was ideal location for walks to. The negatives to our stay would be that the curtain fell down in the lounge when trying to close it, a window in the lounge didn’t open and it was a shame that the window had water in it so you couldn’t get the best view from it. We found that some of the bedding was stained/ not clean and that the towels smelt a bit. The dirve was a tight fit for our car making it difficult to get on and out at times. Think the place could just do with a bit of updating. But we enjoyed our stay and have recommended it to family and would stay again. We had a great holiday

Really had a great time at Littlethwaite. With the option of upstairs and downstairs bedrooms we could accommodate people of differing agility in different areas. My wife has early onset dementia and she was happy being in the cottages environment - we have been there 4 times now - so we must enjoy it. Hopefully visit again.

Decorated for Christmas, house warm, nice place to come back to at the end of the day. Superb views from the lounge and bedroom. Keswick a ten minute walk away, Borrowdale valley a ten minute drive. A great place to stay.
