Guests say

Kissing Gate is a well-regarded cottage in Keswick, praised for its prime location and overall comfort. Guests appreciate its proximity to shops, parks, and local attractions, making it an ideal base for exploring. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the property's cleanliness and facilities generally meet expectations, contributing to a pleasant stay for many visitors.

The property is mostly clean, but there are comments about dust on skirting boards and dirty dishes upon arrival. These seem to be isolated incidents rather than a consistent problem.

The location is highly praised for being central, close to amenities, and an excellent base for touring the area. It is a standout feature of the property.

The property is generally comfortable, with a good shower and a great mattress mentioned. However, there are remarks about an uncomfortable double bed and issues for guests with limited mobility.

Facilities are well-equipped, but there are several maintenance issues noted, such as blocked drains, a noisy hot water system, and a complicated heating system. The bathroom requires additional safety features for elderly guests.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Love staying here as it's like a mini home from home. Very close to the shops and bus station, but not too noisy. There's a car parking space too, which is very helpful. Another advantage is its closeness to a lovely park and routes up nearby hills. Have booked a couple more holidays here, so looking forward to them. 😊

The accommodation is in a great location, comfortable and well equipped. There are however a few issues which can be easily resolved. The taps in the kitchen are installed the wrong way round. The double bed was a little uncomfortable. The hot water system was noisy and the hot water temperature was set too high.By far the biggest issue was the bath/shower. Being in our seventies my husband and I have slightly limited mobility and found entering and leaving the bath tub awkward, there needs to be grab handles and an anti slip step available for use.
