Jasmine Cottage is highly praised for its unbeatable central location in Keswick, offering easy access to shops, restaurants, and scenic walks while remaining peaceful and cosy. Guests appreciate its dog-friendly policy, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable beds. Many return year after year, highlighting its homely feel. Some reviews mention areas needing attention, such as the living room furnishings, carpets, and occasional cleaning issues, but overall, the cottage is considered a convenient and pleasant base for exploring the Lake District.
Many guests found the cottage spotlessly clean and well-presented, but several reviews mention areas needing a deeper clean, such as carpets, bathrooms, and kitchenware. Occasional reports of musty smells and minor maintenance issues were noted.
The location is consistently described as outstanding—right in the centre of Keswick, close to all amenities, yet quiet and peaceful. Proximity to parking, shops, and walking routes is a major highlight.
Guests generally found the cottage cosy and warm, with comfortable beds. However, some found the living room furniture dated or uncomfortable, and the steep stairs were challenging for older guests. The space is ideal for couples but can feel cramped for families.
The cottage is well-equipped with modern kitchen and bathroom facilities, but some guests noted maintenance issues such as worn carpets, loose fittings, and a lack of certain kitchen essentials. The parking permit is appreciated, though the garden is not considered dog-friendly.
While guests appreciated the inclusion of a parking permit, several noted the absence of welcome gifts or basic provisions like tea, coffee, or salt and pepper. Please note that gifts or provisions are not guaranteed.

Accessing the keys was easy and the code worked first time, however someone had locked the front door in such a way which meant the keys wouldn't open it. We then had a long walk into the main street and around the block, a fair 10 minute walk to find the back door. We then accessed through the back door. Parking permit is great and central car park is very near, we managed to get a parking space when needed. The cottage is super close to the town, Derwent water and a park - our dog had lovely walks to the lake every day. There is also a lovely boat ride around the lake for £16, you can hope on and off at different spots. The pencil museum is a walk away. We visited Beatrix potter world and other areas. We also took a trip to Beamish in Durham which was only a couple of hours away.Food shopping - Booths is amazing, delicious meals and food ready to pop in oven. Cottage - small, traditional but has everything we needed. Except the frying pan, it had burned on food and was no longer non stick, so we didn't use it - I wanted to cook some steaks or some bacon but we just did without. This is common for all self catering and I usually take my own, but I didn't this time.
