Guests say

Howe Bridge House is a charming and well-equipped cottage in a stunning, peaceful location just outside Keswick, with beautiful views and easy access to local walks and amenities. Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, spaciousness, and the convenience of being able to explore the area without needing a car. While the decor and shower could benefit from some updating, these minor issues do not detract from the overall comfort and enjoyment of the stay. The cottage is highly recommended, especially for walking enthusiasts seeking tranquillity and scenic surroundings.

Multiple reviews highlight the cottage as spotless, impeccably clean, and well-maintained, with only one minor mention of a missed maintenance issue (toilet seat).

The location is universally praised for its peacefulness, outstanding views, and proximity to Keswick and local walks, making it ideal for those wanting both tranquillity and convenience.

Guests find the cottage cosy, spacious, and comfortable, with particular mention of comfy beds and sofas. Some note the decor is a bit tired and suggest a new sofa would be an improvement.

The cottage is described as well-equipped, with a well-stocked kitchen and thoughtful amenities. However, several guests mention the shower is weak and the decor could use some TLC. The absence of a washing machine and a small dishwasher are also noted.

Guests appreciated small touches such as filled bird feeders and the provision of towels and a hairdryer (not listed in the advert). Please note that such thoughtful extras are not guaranteed for every stay.

The cottage has views that are amazing, it's very peaceful and an easy walk to Keswick. The cottage itself is spotless, I would say a new comfy sofa would have given the cottage a 5⭐.

The location was great on the edge of Portinscale and a 5 minute walk to the Farmers Arms. Keswick a 20 minute pleasurable walk to the hustle and bustle so was good to return to tranquility. The views from the property were amazing to both front and rear and was helped by the maps around the house including the whole wall in the dining room. What stands out are the number of walks which you can plan without using the car. The property was well equipped and the juxtaposition of old and modern gave a character feel. We BBQ most nights and dined at the Farmers Arms on Friday night which can be best described as basic pub grub but was busy, so popular. It is worth mentioning on our arrival the toilet seat was hanging off , an easy fix,, but wonder what the cleaners do if did not noticed!! We enjoyed our week stay and would certainly recommend a couple to stay at Howe Bridge House especially for walking enthusiasts.
