Guests say

Bridge House is a characterful and cosy cottage in the picturesque village of Threlkeld, offering excellent access to local walks, stunning mountain views, and convenient transport links. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, traditional features, and the warmth of the open fire. While the location and charm are frequently praised, some reviews mention that the bathroom and certain areas of the property could benefit from modernisation and deeper cleaning. Overall, the cottage provides a comfortable and memorable base for exploring the Lake District, especially for those seeking a traditional experience.

Cleanliness receives mixed feedback. Several guests found the cottage clean and well-prepared, but others reported issues such as dust, stained mattresses, and insufficient cleaning in the bathroom and kitchen. The overall impression is that standards can vary between stays.

The location is highly praised, with guests loving the proximity to scenic walks, the village pubs, and easy access to Keswick and Penrith. The setting is described as beautiful and convenient for exploring the Lake District.

Guests find the cottage cosy, especially with the open fire, and appreciate the comfortable living areas. However, some mention uncomfortable beds, cold rooms, and uneven floors, which may affect sleep quality for some visitors.

The kitchen is generally considered modern and well-equipped, but the bathroom is frequently described as dated and in need of refurbishment. Heating is adequate but can be tricky to manage. Some maintenance issues, such as broken heater controls and tired decor, are noted.

Some guests mention thoughtful touches, such as a fireplace ready to light and a folded tissue flower on the toilet roll. However, these gestures are not consistently mentioned and cannot be guaranteed for every stay.

A great base, but sadly joists and floor boards need replacing upstairs. The bathroom is definitely desperate to be done it is not.good No hot water in the beginning due to the water tank not switched on by the 2nd day we found where it is and we were able to have hot water.Sleep however is something that is the 1st thing to be done new mattresses are needed and walls painted due to dirty marks in every room and wall.
