Nice property, excellent location, very warm (thinner duvet would have helped). A few niggles easily rectified; a cafetière would have been good, the en suite lit mirror needs to be better attached to wall (it fell off when I tried to plug in my toothbrush charger in to the integral socket). Biggest gripe is the front door lock. It is a mortise lock and with only one key set supplied, so when I wanted to go out for an early walk leaving my adult children asleep, i had to lock them in (so they wouldn’t have been able to get out without climbing out of a window). A Yale lock would be MUCH more practical or a second set of keys.

Dirty and dangerous. We were extremely disappointed to find 2 Harney Peak in a dirty condition when we arrived – it was clear the bathrooms had not been cleaned properly in a long time with taps surrounded by brown build up and previous visitors hair covering the sinks and floor, the soap dispenser in the kitchen also gave out brown tar-like sludge instead of hand wash. The microwave was fitted way above head height, meaning it was too dangerous to use – a step ladder and high stool were provided if you wanted to climb up to use it, with a note to warn visitors they did so ‘at their own risk’. A Quooker tap with poor instructions (at one point it unexpectedly let out a gush of boiling water that took some fathoming to stop) was also dangerous and made the apartment unsuitable for children. Some cupboard space to store food would have been nice.

Amazing position. Only a mile walk from Keswick along a lovely trail. A bus stop right outside taking you to buttermere too. Very clean and modern inside. Clean fluffy towels and comfy beds. The singles in the second bedroom are still very large beds with double size duvets on. Well stocked kitchen. Yes the microwave was high but I am 5’6 and it didn’t bother me at all. The instant boiling water from the tap was a nice luxury. The parking spaces were numbered and can see the car from the living room window. The hotel next door does a nice pint and has a lovely beer garden. There’s also a cafe opposite so it’s got everything you need.
