With just a 20-minute walk into Keswick and with easy access to Derwentwater, this self-contained cottage is ideal for couples and families looking to explore the heart of the Lake District National Park.
The main living areas, comprising newly modernised, well-equipped kitchen and open-plan living room/dining room, are located on the first floor with large windows providing ample natural lighting. There’s a large dining table, plenty of easy seating and Smart TV, perfect for a cosy night in. On the ground floor you’ll find two comfortable bedrooms, a double and a twin, both with plenty of storage and hanging space. The contemporary bathroom with shower over the bath and heated towel rail is also located on the ground floor. The property benefits from its own private entrance and 2 allocated off road parking spaces.
1, Harney Peak was formerly part of a Lakeland hotel and has been welcoming guests for many years. If you want a hearty breakfast, nearby cafes, pubs and restaurants are all within walking distance. From the property, there are many flat, off-road footpaths leading either down to the lakeside and Derwentwater Marina or into Keswick with its abundance of shops and facilities. The Keswick Launch can be accessed from Nichol End Marina, allowing you to view nearby fells from the lake. You can enjoy the views from Catbells on a quiet evening stroll or head to Brandlehow Park along the lake shore path.

Comfortable, roomy but cosy, with a superbly equipped kitchen. The WiFi worked OK, and there's a smart TV and Bose Bluetooth speaker. The central heating is efficient though we found one side of the (upstairs) lounge could be a little cool at times. The cottage is really well equipped, with a large dining table and a roomy downstairs bathroom. There's another toilet upstairs. The owners have clearly given a lot of thought to details such as mini emergency torches. The kitchen is probably the best appointed and equipped we've ever seen. It's so nice to see all of the cutlery, crockery, pans, trays and gadgets you'll ever need ! The fridge, oven and hob are top notch too. Clean and tidy throughout. Despite being near the road junction it was quiet, and the designated parking was a real bonus. We shall definitely book again.

We had a lovely week at 1 Harney Peak. The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Kitchen was big and modern with everything we needed., including a dishwasher. The beds were comfortable. Was a great location, just off the A66, there was also a good walking route into keswick in 20-30 mins (depending on your speed) .A couple of hooks in the bathroom and kitchen would have been useful, plus some instructions on the heating (rather than just the generic Hive ones in the book). The drying room wasn't great, we had to turn on the switch to get it going and maximum time on was 2 hours, it was quite small so I imagine if all the properties were using it there wouldn't be enough space. That wouldn't put me off booking this accommodation again.
