Step out and explore the local area on foot, wandering along the coastline to take in the far reaching estuary views and exploring sandy shores at low tide. The village of Ravenglass is surrounded by historical intrigue discover Muncaster Castle just a short walk away (1.5 miles) or the fascinating Roman Bath House just up the road (0.5 miles). It s impossible to appreciate the local area without a day trip on its hidden gem, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. Known locally as La al Ratty, this 7 mile railway line begins right here in the fishing village and takes its passengers up into the Eskdale Valley, passing mountains and stunning landscapes as it goes.
