With the bulk of Blencathra providing a stunning backdrop, the village lies within the northern edge of the Lake District National Park on the Cumbrian Way ideal for walkers and cyclists, and perfect for those who like to explore during the day and enjoy a pub meal and a few drinks in the evening within a village. Walk to the summits of High Pike, and Carrock Fell (6 miles) for some magnificent views or you can stroll from the village along the riverbanks to the limestone gorge of Howk, where the waterfalls are a lovely sight. You are also within easy reach of Bassenthwaite Lake (9 miles), Derwentwater (18 miles) and Ullswater (18 miles). Entering the property, there is a handy porch to dry off damp coats and muddy walking boots. Heading into the bright hallway, you will find a cosy lounge with comfy seating and a Smart TV with a built in DVD player. After a day out, put a movie on Netflix and relax before your adventures ahead. On a nice evening, there are patio doors which lead from the lounge into the garden.
