Snaptrip says

Derwent Cottage in Keswick is highly praised for its excellent location, comfort, and well-equipped facilities. Guests appreciate the property's proximity to the town and park, spaciousness, and family-friendly environment. While most reviews are positive, some cleanliness issues have been raised, but these seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found the cottage to be clean and tidy. However, one review mentioned several cleanliness issues, including leftover food and dog hair, which suggests room for improvement. The majority of feedback, though, indicates a high standard of cleanliness.

The location is consistently praised for being central and convenient, within a short walk to Keswick town centre and adjacent to a lovely park. It is also mentioned as a great base for exploring the Lake District.

Guests describe the property as spacious, homely, and with comfortable beds. The presence of a family-friendly environment and a well-received courtyard garden adds to the comfort level. However, one review mentioned a broken washing machine, slightly impacting this score.

Facilities are generally regarded as modern and well-equipped, with a high-spec finish. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, such as a damaged wood-burning fire and a heavy rear gate, but overall, the facilities meet guests' needs.

Several reviews mention thoughtful touches like a welcome pack and provision of basic supplies, which guests appreciated. It is important to note that such gifts, while often provided, are not guaranteed for every stay.

The house was clean and very accommodating. The beds are a little on the hard side but other than that it’s a very nice cottage.

The property is in a great location and very handy for Fitz Park and the town centre. Parking could be busy but we always managed to get a space on the same street or one nearby. The house itself is well equipped, modern and clean. Tea, coffee, UHT milk and biscuits were provided along basic cleaning supplies for the kitchen/dishwasher. The storage in the garden and outdoor hose were great for the bikes. Please note the staircase up to the second floor bedrooms is narrow and there is no toilet on that level - did not cause an issue for us. The main bathroom is huge and lovely shampoo, conditioner and body wash were provided. We would happily stay here again.

The owner of the property made sure that everything was available and comfortable. I would definitely return to the property if I am back in the Lake District and would recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing stay.
