After dinner, take your favourite tipple over to the sitting room, where you can relax on the plush seating in front of the warming electric fire and select your favourite film from the Smart TV. Wash away the day with a soak in the bath or refreshing shower in the well-appointed bathroom, before choosing from two beautifully decorated bedrooms to catch your rest in, a double with TV and en-suite shower room and a twin, both with ample storage for your belongings. In the morning, take advantage of the facilities available right on your doorstep with a dip in the pool, a game of crazy golf, dinner and drinks in the welcoming bar and restaurant, a fun-filled evening in the entertainment venue or picking up essentials in the well-stocked mini mart. If you can tear yourself away, head straight for the golden sands of Dovercourt Beach, where you can bathe, paddle the shores or hire a kayak or canoe to take to the waters of Dovercourt Bay. Continue through the town, where you can test out your swing at the excellent Harwich & Dovercourt Golf Club, hook your catch of the day along Stone Pier, or visit the historic 19th-century Harwich Redoubt Fort. Wildlife enthusiasts will have found their haven with the Wrabness Nature Reserve and RSPB Stour Estuary nearby. The popular coastal town of Clacton-on-Sea is definitely worth a visit, with its fabulous sandy beach, pier side aquarium and two fantastic theatres. Further afield is Colchester, where you will find ample shopping opportunities, the remarkable 12th-century castle with jail, the fascinating ruins of Balkerne Gate and the superb National Trust site of Bourne Mill. While Harwich, located at the mouth of the River Stour in Essex, is adjacent to Dovercourt, it boasts a slew of attractions, including a café named after famed diarist Samuel Pepys, MP for the town in 1679. You'll never run out of things to do while you're there thanks to the golf course, beautiful architecture, and white sand beach. Clacton-on-Sea, a prominent seaside resort town in Essex, is only 15 miles away and offers a beach and pier for a truly English seaside day. The Dedham Vale aonb, made renowned by the artist John Constable, is a wonderful place to visit if you're looking for upscale shopping.
