Ok for a short break but really struggled with internal temperature which hit 34 degrees C on arrival and only reduced slightly after opening all windows and putting fan on full blast. Struggled to get comfortable on sofa and chair and found it difficult to sleep because of heat despite comfortable bed. However Braunston is a nice little village and cottage is ideally placed if interested in canal boats. The annual canal boat event was nice to see.

This is the third time I have stayed at the Southfield Workshop. It is an ideal place to stay being near the canal and in a quiet, friendly village which has all the amenities you need for a perfect holiday. The Workshop is "quirky" if you are looking for something different, and the owner is very helpful immediately attending, if there are any concerns. The Workshop is comfortable, I have always found it clean with all the essentials there, which are needed for a good break. I will be returning.

Had a lovely week staying in Southfield Workshop. Spacious open plan living. Great shower. Everything you need is there. Neil is a great host, available for advice and allowed use of his fields for exercising our dog. Great location for walks, the canal and pubs for meals. We’ll be returning later this year
