The lodge makes a wonderful base for exploring the surrounding county, and adjoins the ruins of King John’s Castle. There are numerous attractions in the area, including Go Ape, go-karting, a public swimming pool, crown green bowling and a gymnasium. Also within a few miles are Rufford Abbey and Clumber Park, National Trust. The grand houses of Hardwick Hall, Newstead Abbey and Bolsover Castle are within 25 minutes’ drive. The Sherwood Forest Steam Railway and White Post Modern Farm will delight guests, and golf and horse riding are available 2 miles away. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

We had a lovely time here. Plenty of walks from the door & nearby. The lodge had everything you needed + the bonus of a hot tub. The large enclosed garden was great for our dog which meant we could all sit outside & relax. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent base to explore Robin Hood country! Host was very communicative & property was a definite home from home. Fantastic to come back and jump in the hot tub too!
