This holiday home enjoys an enclosed garden to spend an afternoon sipping tea and private parking for one car. The property is decorated fully in Farrow & Ball, offering a charming interior to spend your time and the bathroom, dining room, and living room have dimmable lights for a relaxed atmosphere. Step inside to discover the sitting room; here you can unwind in front of the Smart TV with Sky as the woodburning stove crackles nearby. Locate the shaker-style kitchen/diner, hosting an electric oven and induction hob to prepare heart-warming meals and a dishwasher to do the cleaning up for you! Gather at the rustic table to enjoy mealtimes together; afterwards why not relish a moment of relaxation in the upstairs bathroom in the extra deep Villeroy & Boch soaking bathtub? There is ambient front and back outdoor lighting for when you fancy sitting outside after sunset before you hit the sheets. When sleep calls, choose between two well-presented bedrooms to rest your head, with a super-king-size (zip/link) and a king-size, with bedside lamps for a nighttime read. Both bedrooms offer Hypnos mattresses so you can look forward to climbing into bed after an action-packed day. In the morning, begin your day with a wash in the luxury rainfall shower system before savouring a home-cooked breakfast, courtesy of the kitchen appliances. Head out on foot, where your private road will lead you to a pub with a beer garden and a well-stocked convenience store to pick up some treats. History buffs may wish to jump in the car to visit the 19th century Belvoir Castle with its quintessential Engine Yard Retail and tour the National Trust sites of Grantham House and Belton House, boasting grand interiors. Visit the city of Nottingham for a great selection of attractions, including the Museum of Nottingham Life, Cave Escape Nottingham and Highfields Park, which is home to a quaint boating lake. Sherwood Forest is easily accessible offering fun for all the family with Go Ape and the Adrenaline Jungle as is the National Water Sports Centre. Venture into the city of Leicester, hosting an array of restaurants and shops to suit all budgets, as well as its gothic cathedral to absorb the history. For a relaxing break to Nottinghamshire, consider 2 Pailing Cottage.

Aslockton is a charming English village located on the north bank of the River Smite in Nottinghamshire. There is a train station nearby for trips to fascinating places, as well as fishing ponds for a relaxing break. The Cranmer Arms, located in the hamlet, serves chilled beers in a beer garden as well as home-cooked meals to take you away from the kitchen. Stock up on necessities at The Larder At Aslockton, an independent convenience store, or visit Bingham for a variety of supermarkets.

The furnishings fixtures and fittings are all of high quality. Beautiful kitchen with all modern appliances. Very comfortable lounge with a great smart TV and log burner. Beds extremely comfortable. We visited numerous National Trust properties along with Belvoir Castle. Good shopping facilities in nearby Bingham. We have stayed in many holiday cottages throughout the country, Scotland and Ireland this cottage is one of the best.

With brilliant eateries just a short drive away. It’s a great base for exploring the area with so much to do and fun for all ages. Can’t wait to return. Thank you Amber and Paul for this little gem of a cottage.
