A quaint annex resting on the owners' property in Raunds, The Ash is ideal for two couples or friends looking to explore the wonderful Northamptonshire. Be welcomed into a lovely entrance hall with quirky pig-themed décor, blue walls and eye-catching furniture, and ascend the steps to the kitchen/diner, a light and airy space filled with natural light and loads of home-from-home amenities to assist you when cooking a heart-warming meal, which can be enjoyed at the dining table. Sporting a bright feature wall and with homely furniture, the sitting area is ideal for a movie marathon. The courtyard garden can be accessed via patio doors in the sitting room and is a delightful spot for alfresco dining in the sunshine, with a backdrop of stone walls and colourful shrubs. Freshen up in the bathroom with a warm shower before settling down into one of the two double bedrooms, one with pink décor and the other a more neutral theme, and both with loads of built-in storage for all of your belongings. Raunds is a lovely village with a local shop, selection of pubs and eateries, so there is plenty of choice when you don’t feel like cooking. Further from the property you will find loads of great places to enjoy the local wildlife and picturesque scenery, including scenic walks beside the River Nene, Stanwick Lakes, Nene Wetlands Nature Reserve and Tichmarsh Nature Reserve. Lovers of watersports can head over to Grafham Waters, where there is the option to try out sailing, kayaking, walks around the lake and a visitor’s centre where guests can grab a coffee. Historic sites include Deene Park ad Kirby Hall, and an afternoon adventure can be had at Wicksteed Park and Hamerton Zoo Park, and there is also the option of Towcaster Racecourse and Rutland Water. Further from the property you will find the historic city of Cambridge with its museums, historic churches and abundance of eateries and shops to browse at your leisure. Raunds, which is situated midway between Coventry and Cambridge, is a charming village with a variety of services and activities. The village has a small store where you can fill up on necessities, as well as bars and eateries, such The Globe and Jester's Bistro & Coffee Lounge, where you can have a hearty meal and a glass of your preferred beverage. The hamlet is an excellent place for people who enjoy spending time in nature, and there are several nearby wetlands and nature reserves ideal for birdwatching. For instance, there are many opportunities for walks along the River Nene and in the Nene Wetlands Nature Reserve, the Stanwick Lakes, and the Tichmarsh Nature Reserve. At Rushden Golf Corse, try out a game or two.
