Up on the first floor, a beautifully snug setting awaits beneath exposed A-frame beams, with a neat office area with a desk for completing any urgent work, along with two armchairs and a sofa to sink into whilst watching the Smart TV after a busy day outdoors. Relax here with a book from one of the shelves before putting on the radio and making a start on the evening meal; the kitchen is home to all the essentials you need, with a compact oven and two-ring hob, a microwave, a fridge and even a small dishwasher at your fingertips. Enjoy meals at the dining table before returning to the sitting area to wind down into the evening in front of the woodburning stove. When you're ready to retire, find a pretty king-size bedroom featuring more of the butterfly theme, with a convenient en-suite cloakroom. Retaining its character and ancient market town charm, Stony Stratford is a surprising oasis of calm despite being so close to the bustling hub of Milton Keynes, with a scattering of independent shops, some which have been in business for hundreds of years, along with butchers, bakers, pubs and restaurants, offering all you need on a self-catered stay. Head out on a walk in the beautiful Ouse Valley Park nearby, home to the Linford Lakes Nature Reserve too, you can admire the lakeside scenery and wildlife, before coming to the Iron Trunk Aqueduct and embarking on its heritage walk. Enjoy an interesting day out to Bletchley Park, home of the once top-secret world of Codebreaking Huts and Blocks, where famous codebreaker Alan Turing worked on cracking the German Naval Enigma, all set within a wonderful Victorian estate. The Grand Union Canal is a perfect for scenic strolls, running all the way from London to Birmingham, passing through the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering a great way to explore. Adventurers will love Treetop Extreme where you can take on the obstacle course up in the tree canopy, set beside the lovely Willen Lake with opportunities for wakeboarding here and other watersports. Resting in the county of Buckinghamshire and just less than 5 miles from Milton Keynes is the charming town of Stony Stratford. Historically a market town on the route from London to Chester, it now presents a tranquil base for exploring the likes of Milton Keynes, the Chiltern Hills aonb, Northampton and the wonderful Buckinghamshire countryside. The lovely Ouse Valley Park is just a stone's throw away, as well as the Milton Keynes Museum, Iron Trunk Aqueduct Heritage Walk and the National Trust's Stowe garden.
