There is an unfenced lake in the grounds, 100 yards away and only small dogs will be permitted on-site.
Hen/stag and same-sex groups outside of couples/families if aged under 21 will need prior approval from the park.
Please note a working livery is set on Helsey Farm Cottages along with continued development work whilst kept to a minimum, may cause some disruption.

The mattresses were very soft, as a personal preference I prefer a hard mattress. The en suite shower only ran scolding hot water and so we all had to use 1 bathroom but not the worst issue we could have faced

We stayed at Helsey Farm Cottages over the weekend and overall the lodge itself was lovely – very spacious, comfortable, with a large TV and a hot tub which we enjoyed using during our stay.Unfortunately, there were quite a few smaller issues which took the shine off what could otherwise have been a really good stay. The frying pan provided was bent and wobbled badly on the gas hob, the clothes horse was broken and kept falling over, and the WiFi wasn't working. We were also advised on the morning of check-in that the dishwasher was broken, which wasn't a major issue in itself, but only a very small amount of washing-up liquid had been left as an alternative.There were a few maintenance points too. The front door didn't seem to close tightly against the seal at the bottom and some of the cushions were missing from the outdoor furniture. More importantly, the hot tub didn't appear to be cleaned or checked during either Saturday or Sunday. We checked out at 9am on Monday, so given it was being used throughout the weekend I would have expected it to be checked during our stay.There was also a separate incident while visiting family who were staying in the main house. People who kept horses in the neighbouring field approached us and accused the children in our party of spraying the horses with water guns and kicking a football at them. This simply wasn't happening. What made the situation particularly uncomfortable was the impression that we and the children had been watched closely enough for these accusations to be made, especially as the children had been in and out of the hot tub in their swimming costumes. It made what should have been a relaxed family evening feel quite uncomfortable.Overall, the accommodation itself has a lot going for it and we did enjoy our weekend. It's spacious, well equipped in many respects and the hot tub is a great addition. However, there were too many maintenance and housekeeping issues for the stay to be as good as it could have been, and the incident involving the neighbouring field unfortunately left a sour note. With better attention to the smaller maintenance details and hot tub servicing, it could be a really lovely place to stay.

On arrival it was easy to find and the lodge was clean and tidy; modern looking. Washer-dryer situated in a cupboard in the entrance.. handy but we didn’t use it. Lots of storage space. Open plan lounge/kitchen/dining room with a huge tv. We had signal issues on the first night with the tv but was fine after that. Couches were comfortable. Everything to hand in the kitchen. Patio doors by the dining table lead out onto a huge decking —hot tub was right in front of the doors and was ready the first night. Only thing was, it’s set into the decking and we found it a struggle to get in and out. It was very hot the week we were there and we did expect a fan so hadn’t brought ours, only to find there was no fan.. 😩 we had to go out and buy one. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms was a bonus —both bedrooms had a dressing room with plenty of hanging space and storage. Bed was comfortable and clean. But there were no lamps in either bedroom so we had to get out of bed to put the light off (light switch was right over by the door). We knew there was a working livery on site, that was fine.. but our lodge was next to a field of cows and there was a big mountain of manure there —needless to say we were inundated with flies, and I mean inundated. We had to go out and get fly spray. Very annoying. If this is a common problem then I think a net on the patio door would be helpful, or a zapper inside. My hubby noticed a couple of splattered flies on cupboard doors so we would assume it’s a common occurrence. Skegness is around 7 miles away which is handy; everything you need there —takeaways, supermarkets, stuff to do. There’s no information in the lodge so google the area. Overall we had a fantastic week.
