Lion Gate Lodge originally built in the 1790s has been sympathetically restored for 2021 to a luxury standard and offers a high level of comfort with beautiful views across the deer park at Scrivelsby.
With each bedroom benefitting from its own bathroom, it is ideal for couples or families to enjoy. With gardens running all around and two patio areas as well as outside dining space to enjoy summer barbecues, it is a lovely spot for a holiday or as a base from which to explore Lincolnshire. Nearby Horncastle is the gateway to The Lincolnshire Wolds (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and offers a good selection of shops, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants as well as being well known for its array of antiques and collectables shops.
For days out, motor racing fans will enjoy Cadwell Park near Louth, travel east to the sandy beaches of the traditional seaside resort of Skegness or head inland to the city of Lincoln with its impressive cathedral and castle to visit. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is 15 minutes drive away as is Lincolnshire Aviation Centre at East Kirkby, the home of Just Jane, the wwii Lancaster bomber which still does regular taxi runs along the runway. There are very good walks and cycle routes straight from the door and in the evening dine alfresco style at home watching the deer roam through the trees, or head into Horncastle or nearby Kirkby on Bain for refreshment. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

A privilege to stay in such a beautiful and tranquil setting with amazing history attached to it. Lion Gate Lodge is perfect it’s warm and cosy, so well equipped with every attention to detail to make your stay so pleasurable.To wake up in a morning to see deer roaming ,squirrels scampering what more could you want.In today’s crazy world this really is the perfect place to unwind and recharge your batteries ,and discover what a very special County Lincolnshire is. Lion Gate Lodge is a short drive away from Horncastle the Counties Antiques Capital, the unspoilt Market Town of Louth ,Woodhall Spa war time home of Guy Gibson and the 617 Dambuster Squadron, RAF Coningsby with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight ,Boston and it’s rich history Guildhall Museum and its cells where the Pilgrim Father’s were imprisoned, and it’s magnificent Parish Church of St Botolph’s .Drive a little further to Lincoln and visit Bomber Command Memorial ,so much to see and do or simply relax and follow some of the walks with information provided.Our thanks to Gail for going the extra mile to make our stay so memorable ,yes we will definitely return!.

Very tranquil, set in parkland where you can watch deer roaming. The lodge is very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. Hostess is very friendly and helpful.
