Guests say

Paws in the Pines offers a peaceful, secluded retreat with a cosy log burner and a private, enclosed garden ideal for dogs. Guests appreciate the tranquil rural setting and the relaxing hot tub, though it requires time to heat. The cottage is well-equipped for basic needs and provides a comfortable base for exploring the area. While some guests found the property clean and inviting, others noted areas for improvement in cleanliness, maintenance, and warmth. The location is praised for its privacy, though access to the surrounding woodland is restricted. Overall, it is a charming spot for a quiet countryside escape.

Reviews are mixed, with several guests noting issues such as dirty kitchenware, stained carpets, cobwebs, and dog mess in the garden. Some found the property clean and comfortable, but recurring comments about cleanliness and maintenance suggest room for improvement.

The rural, peaceful location is widely praised for its tranquillity and privacy. However, some guests were disappointed by the lack of direct access to woodland walks and found the property difficult to locate, especially at night.

Guests enjoyed the cosy log burner and quiet setting, but several found the cottage cold, particularly upstairs, and mentioned hard mattresses and uncomfortable seating. The underfloor heating was often described as insufficient, especially in colder months.

The cottage is generally well-equipped, with a log burner, hot tub, and enclosed garden. However, guests noted the absence of a freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine, and some reported maintenance issues with the hot tub, bathroom, and kitchen equipment.

While some guests appreciated the provision of logs and a dog bed, others noted the lack of a welcome pack, dog bowls, or treats. Gifts such as welcome packs are not guaranteed and were not consistently provided during stays.

We spend 7 days here and only because me traveled 51/2hours to get here. Hoist doesn’t seem to put much effort into the cleanliness of the place or give it the extra tweaks you would expect of a place like this. Hot tub flu was blocked so a nightmare to work, once up to heat it was manageable. Kitchen poor no washing machine all equipment needed washed prior to use and cheap quality. Bed room cobweds and bed very hard well used bed sheets. Marks on carpets. Cracks in celling at joins. Bathroom bath with no taps?? Side of bath loose, toilet horribly stained there is no need for this! Mould inside cup for toothbrush. Living area wasn’t to bad apart from ants at side of patio doors crawling around Livingroom. Old dog toy/bone under sofa. WiFi wasn’t worth the hassle continued buffering. Outside was ok patio decking was covered In leaves etc which I swept myself to make it look better bbq still had charcoal in from past guest and had not been cleaned residue of food. Hot tub fire and log Burner both hadn’t been cleaned full of ash and cinders. This place could be pritty amazing with a little bit of TLC and extras to put a smile on holidays makers faces. We made the most of it with going out on trips thankfully due to nice weather.
